The Parish Council forms
a leadership group of the Parish community to assist the
Parish in carrying out its mission of proclaiming the Good
News of Salvation, serving the needs of others and celebrating
sacramental life. The council carries out its purpose through
the following functions: Spiritual Development and Communication.
The membership of the council consists of the Pastor, Fr.
Wayne Jenkins, Director of Ministries and Administration,

ADMINISTRATION - The
Administration Committee is responsible for developing
and recommending to the Parish Council, policy concerning
financial and administrative procedures for the Parish.
This committee uses the financial resources of the whole
Parish to maintain the operation and expansion of the physical
plant. Preparing the overall church budget for the approval
of the Parish Council is a major function of this committee.
The chairperson of the Administration Committee also serves
as a member of the Parish Council. This committee consists
of the following subcommittees: Budget, Facilities, Audit,
Landscaping, Treasure Counters, and Legacy Gift Participation.

FORMATION - The Formation
and Education Committee helps to develop the spiritual
growth of the entire community through formation, education,
fellowship, Christian support and improved communication,
leading the parish toward a mature faith, while proclaiming
and teaching the "Good
News." This committee oversees the following groups:
Baptism Preparation, Couple-to-Couple Marriage Preparation,
Family Ministry, Sunday Morning Preschool, Vacation Bible
School, Evening Religious Education, Junior High Ministry,
Senior High Ministry, RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation
of Adults), Christian Initiation of Children, Adult Formation,
Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP), Scripture Study, Retreats,
Senior Spirituality Groups and Catholics Returning Home.

SERVICE - The Service
Committee exists to serve the people of God at St. Barnabas
by filling the social and spiritual needs of the Parish
through various recreational and service organizations
and activities. This committee consists of the following
organizations: Hospitality Ministry, Golden Key Club, Jolly
Retirees, Backers, SEAM (Southeast Associated Ministries),
Social Concerns, Boys and Girls Scouting, Ministry to Sick
and Homebound, Bereavement Ministries, Barnabees Quilters,
Pinochle Club, Habitat for Humanity, Kids Café,
Legislative Advocacy, Refugee Advocacy, Respect Life, Walks
for Causes, Family Assistance, Newsletter, and Parish Phone
Tree.

STEWARDSHIP - The
Stewardship Committee is a standing committee of the Parish
Council whose primary mission is to raise the awareness
of gratitude and giftedness of the parishioners of St.
Barnabas. Through Stewardship
we understand more deeply our responsibility to share our
faith through our gifts of time, talent and treasure. The
parish accepts the gifts of its parishioners at the annual
stewardship renewal. Those gifts are used to support
the parish and its ministries. Membership is open to
any parishioner wishing to deepen their understanding of
stewardship or willing to share their stewardship with others.

WORSHIP - The Worship
committee exists to help develop, support and further the
prayer life of the parish through Liturgies, Prayer Services,
Education, Liturgical Ministries and supporting other committees
in their work. This committee oversees the following liturgical
and service ministries: Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors,
Ministers of Music, Ministers of Hospitality, Ushers, Servers,
Gift Bearers, Ministers of Art and Environment, Bereavement
Ministry, Sunshine Basket, and Church Housekeeping.
