Baptism Preparation Team
Preparation classes are led by couples who work with couples
preparing for the baptism of a child and help the parents
understand their role in raising their children as Catholics.
Baptisms are celebrated quarterly (Jan. Apr., July, Oct.).
Catholics Returning Home
Team of parishioners with other local parish teams reach out
and invite non-practicing/inactive Catholics to return to the
Catholic Church and resume active participation in their faith.

Christ Renews His Parish
Team of parishioners work to create a spiritual renewal experience
which brings adult parishioners together in small groups
in order to deepen their relationships with Jesus Christ
and each other.

Evening Religious Education
Multi-parish ministry to teach our Catholic faith to students
grades 1 through 8 who do not attend Catholic schools.
Classes are held on Tuesday evenings at St. Martha Parish.

High School Ministry
Provides opportunities for high school students to participate
in social, spiritual and service activities with their
peers. Adult and youth involvement in various capacities
is vital to this ministry.

John Paul II Academy
Our school is a regional effort supported by the faith communities
of St. Barnabas, St. Bartholomew and St. Pius X exists to
promote the spiritual, academic, social and emotional development
of its students. Stewards from each of the founding parishes
support the academy spiritually, physically and financially.
John Paul II Academy would appreciate assistance in the school
cafeteria, on the playground in their stewardship Step-by-Step
program and, at times, in the classrooms.

Liturgy of the Word for Children
Children, grades 1 through 3 are dismissed during the 11
a.m. Sunday liturgy after the opening prayer and return
after the homily. They go to the Hospitality House to discuss
and share their faith through the breaking open the Word
as it pertains to them. Leaders and co-leaders are needed
for this important children’s ministry.

Marriage Preparation Team
Married couples meet with engaged couple as they prepare
for the Sacrament of Marriage.

Parish Mission Planning
Team of parishioners works with other local parish teams
to plan special three or four day joint spiritual experiences. This
also involves working with a guest speaker, presenter or
facilitator.

Parish Retreats
Opportunities for reflection, prayer and sharing are provided
at separate men’s and women’s weekend retreats.
Attendees participate in the planning of the retreat.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Multi-parish ministry where parishioners are involved as
team members, sponsors and dismissers in the process for
initiating adults into the Catholic Church, including non-baptized (catechumens) and
those baptized in another faith (candidates). The Rite of
Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and the children’s
catechumenate meet weekly. The initiation is completed and
celebrated at the Easter Vigil Mass.

Scripture Study and Prayer Groups
Parishioners meet in small groups to study Scripture or to
reflect on the Sunday readings.

Sunday Preschool

Sunday Nursery
Ministry coordinating adults and teens to provide care for

Vacation Bible School
A week of activities centered on Bible teachings is held in the summer for children
ages 4-8. Parishioners lead groups of children in activities that include songs,
